The **Ardas Festival**, also known as the \u201cArdas Youth Meeting,\u201d is one of the most important cultural institutions in Northern Greece. Since 1995, it has been held every summer on the banks of the Ardas River, in the village of Kastanies, attracting visitors from Greece and the Balkans, as it is located just a short distance from the Greek-Turkish border and close to neighboring Bulgaria.<\/p>

The festival serves as a meeting point for young people, combining music, sports, and environmental awareness. Its philosophy is based on cooperation, friendship, and the peaceful coexistence of peoples through art and shared activities.<\/p>

The Ardas Festival is a multifaceted event that features a rich program of activities and events. You can reach the festival site via the Egnatia Odos (E85).<\/p>

Follow the Kastanies junction, which is located 17 kilometers north of Orestiada.<\/p>

Kastanies is located one kilometer from the national road junction.<\/p>

From the village\u2019s central square, turn left and after 500 meters you will reach the Ardas River and the event area.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Regular intercity routes of KTEL Evros operate at frequent intervals from Athens, Thessaloniki, Kavala, Xanthi, Komotini, Alexandroupoli, Soufli, Didymoteicho, and Orestiada.<\/p>

All buses have Orestiada as their final destination, where there are connecting routes to Kastanies. The last stop within the village is 300 meters from the main entrance.<\/p>
