9th Riverside Race – ARDAS 2026

The Municipality of Orestiada and the Orestiada Runners Club proudly announce and organize the 8th “Ardas” Riverside 10K Race. In parallel, a 3K Health Run & Power Walking Event will also take place.

The event is organized and conducted in accordance with the General Rules and Regulations of the Hellenic Federation of Popular Mass Sports and Ultramarathon Clubs.

1. DATE OF THE EVENT: Saturday, July 26, 2025

2. RACE INFORMATION:

2.1. 10K Road Race – Start Time: 19:00

Starting Point and Finish Line The area adjacent to the entrance of the “Ardas Youth Festival 2024”, on the banks of the Ardas River. Ardas , Kastanies Evros, Greece

In Brief: The 10 km course starts and finishes adjacent to the entrance of the Ardas River Festival venue. The route follows the riverbank on a dirt surface, along the riverside road connecting Kastanies and Rizia. After approximately 1.5 km, runners pass beneath the Egnatia Motorway vertical axis that connects Orestiada with the Ormenio border crossing. After the 5th kilometre, the course enters the lush riverside forest before looping back and returning to the starting point.

2.2. 3K Health Run & Power Walking Event – Start Time: 19:00

Starting Point and Finish Line Adjacent to the entrance of the “Ardas Youth Festival 2024” venue, on the banks of the Ardas River, in Kastanies, Evros, Greece. Ardas , Kastanies Evros, Greece

In Brief: The 3 km course starts and finishes adjacent to the entrance of the Ardas River Festival venue. The route follows the riverbank on a dirt surface, along the riverside road connecting Kastanies and Rizia. After approximately 1.5 km, just before reaching the Egnatia Motorway vertical axis that connects Orestiada with the Ormenio border crossing, participants make a turnaround and return to the starting point via the area's embankment route.

A celebration of sport, participation and well-being for all ages, set in the unique natural surroundings of the Ardas River and as part of the 30th anniversary edition of the Festival.
